Salt Lake City - Roxana Shaw Brown, 83, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2006 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She had been a resident of Rock Springs for many years prior to moving to Utah.
She was born March 22, 1923 in Tetonia, Idaho, the daughter of James Albert and May Thatcher Shaw. She married H. Grant Brown on June 9, 1942.
Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death.
Roxana was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. She served two temple missions, Atlanta, Georgia and Denver Colorado Temple. She was a meticulous record keeper and very organized.
Survivors include her children, Daniel Grant Brown and wife Linda, Patricia Bowdey, Helen McGuire and husband Stan, Marilyn Brown, and David S. Brown and wife Nanette; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Lofthouse and Naomi Norwood: brother, Dr. James T. Shaw and wife Pauline.
She was preceded in death by her husband and sister, Ardis Kofoed.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2006 at the Midvale 10th Ward LDS Chapel, 8825 S 150 W, Salt Lake City. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006 at the Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S) and 9-9:45 a.m. Monday at the church.
Friends may also call 7-9 p.m. Monday, October 16, 2006 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2007 at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Rock Springs.
