Saima McCurtain Tiede

Rock Springs - Saima McCurtain Tiede, 90, of Rock Springs died Monday, April 30, 2007 at her home after a sudden illness. She was born on November 18, 1916 in Rock Springs, the daughter of Elias and Liisa Lukkarinen Maki. She attended schools in Rock Springs and graduated from Rock Springs High School with the class of 1933. She married Don Cox in 1938 and they had one child, Judy Likwartz. They were later divorced. He preceded her in death in 1979. She married Fred McCurtain in 1950 and he also preceded her in death in 1962. After being widowed for 29 years, she married Robert Tiede in 1991. Saima was employed by McCurtain Motors for 47 years as a bookkeeper/office manager. Her interests were traveling, music, and spending time with her family and numerous friends. She is survived by her husband, Robert Tiede of Rock Springs; daughter, Judy Likwartz and husband Don of Casper; one niece, Sharon Boschetto of Rock Springs; one nephew, Lyle Ranta and wife Jean of St. George, UT; two grandchildren, Kevin Gillette and wife Susan of Dallas, and Saima Goodrich and husband Kevin of Portland, OR; three great-grandchildren, Sarah, Daniel and Nicole Gillette of Dallas, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and one nephew. Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, May 12, 2007 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs. Dr. Bernadine Craft will officiate.
