Samuel Nils Hart

Samuel Nils Hart Green River – Samuel Nils Hart, 86, of Green River died Thursday, November 7, 2008 at his home in Green River. He was born June 1, 1922 in Soda Springs, Idaho, the son of Celdon and Evine Hart. He married Doris L. Dorney. They were later divorced. He married Iris M. Martin in 1968, they were married for 40 years. There marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was employed by the Forest Service for 12 years until his retirement at the age of 85. Samuel was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many callings including Bishop and High Council member. He also served an LDS mission to Norway. His interests were the outdoors, people and making friends. Survivors include his wife Iris of Green River; sons, Gary Martin and wife Barbara of Eagle River, Alaska, Nils Hart and wife Terri of Layton, Utah, Pete Hart and wife Mona Lynn of Green River, and Samuel Hart and wife Jessica of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughters, Kris Hart and partner Teresa of Logan, Utah, Paulette Carlson and husband Mike of Green River; one sister, Rhea Westlake of Bennington, Idaho; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son Spencer L. Hart, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday November 11, 2008 at the Green River LDS Stake Center, 120 Shoshone, Green River. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday November 10, 2008 at the church and also one hour prior to the services on Tuesday. Interment will take place in the Riverview Cemetery, Green River.
