Shirley Thomas

Rock Springs - Shirley Marie Thomas, 75, a lifelong resident of Rock Springs, died Thursday, July 8, 2004 at Sage View Care Center after a sudden illness. She was born November 4, 1928 in Rock Springs, the daughter of Frank and Eva Jackson Kaumo. She attended schools in Rock Springs and graduated from Rock Springs High School with the class of 1948. On October 19, 1948, she married Thomas J. Thomas in Rock Springs. She was a member of the Episcopal Guild, Womens Eagles, Italian Club, and Bowling Association. She was also a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Communion in Rock Springs. Her interests were her grandchildren, great grandchildren, bowling, gambling, and traveling. Survivors include her husband Tom of Rock Springs; one son, Tommy Thomas of Rock Springs; two daughters, Julie Banks of Rock Springs, and Toni Crouch and husband Kevin of Antioch, California; three sisters, Norma Ramsey of Rock Springs, Kathy Poulnot of Bishop, Georgia, and Pam Collins of Rock Springs; brother-in-law, Scotty Thomas and wife Mona of Rock Springs; seven grandchildren, Chad Banks and wife Angela, Kandi Pendleton and husband Brad, Casey Wegenke and husband Scott, Tiffany McClure and husband Casey, Shaun ,Ashley, and Kaycee Thomas; seven great grandchildren, Chase and Zachary Pendleton, Katelin and Grace Banks, Mikaila Wegenke, Wyatt and Waylon Martinez; three nephews, Joe, Scott, and Troy Thomas, several other nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Frankie, Robert and Ronnie Kaumo, and one sister, Beverly Rafferty. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 12, 2004 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs. The family will be receiving friends at 1206 Clark Street.
