Green River – Sofia Lynn Young, 41, 2510 Wisconsin Ct., Green River, suddenly died Sunday February 22, 2004 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County, Rock Springs.
Sofia was a resident of Green River for the past ten years, and was a former resident of Boerne, Texas.
Sofia was born November 21, 1962 in Shreveport, Louisiana the daughter of Raul and Irma Galvez Garza. She attended schools in Texas and graduated from Boerne High School with the class of 1981. On August 21, 1993 she married her wonderful, loving husband Larry Young in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
She was employed at the Book and Bean in Green River at the time of her death.
She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses Congregation of Green River.
A very kind hearted and loving person, Sofia loved spending time with family and friends, reading books, traveling, and music. She also loved the beach and Jenny Lake.
She is survived by her husband of ten and a half years Larry Young of Green River; parents Raul and Irma Garza of Bergheim, Texas; one sister, Gina Perry and husband Chris and children Lexie and Zach Perry; maternal grandmother, Sofia Herrera of San Antonio, Texas; mother and father-in-law, Ree and Doyle Young of Green River; sisters-in-law, Claudia Rice of Green River, Mona Lisa and husband Philip Sullivan of Aspen, Colorado, and Sharon Young of Denver, Colorado; nieces Crystal and Monique Wagner of Denver, Colorado and Chante’ Mebane of Green River; nephews Chad Mebane of Green River, Dude and Little Chad of Green River; and special friend Ellan Damian of Clute, Texas.
Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs.
Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at the Green River Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2180 W. Teton Blvd, Green River.
