Stephen J. Harrison, age 38, died Aug. 6, 2011, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Stephen was born Oct. 22, 1972, to William J. and Donna K. (McClure) Harrison in Provo, Utah. He spent his childhood and received his education in Green River, Wyo., and had also resided in Lyman, Wyo., before moving to Montrose, Colo., where he made his home until his time of death. Stephen worked as a mechanic in the oil fields prior to moving to the Montrose area. He loved the outdoors, the mountains, hunting and camping.
Surviving family members include his parents, William and Donna Harrison, of Montrose; a son, Jordan James Harrison, and mother Tonill Herein, of Lyman, Wyo; sisters, Candace Rae Harrison of South Carolina, aunts, Delilah McDonald, Mary Padilla and Sandra Harrison, all of Montrose, Brenda Clark, of Wyoming, and Shirley Lacy of Missouri; uncles, Steve Harrison, Johnny Harrison and Lorenzo Padilla, all of Montrose, and Bobby McClure of Missouri; nieces, Brittany Jean Ault and Stieve Marie Plemmons, and Christia Hollister; cousins, Shawn and Scott Harrison, Monica, Lisa Miller, Nicole Havens, Matthew Padilla, Leroy and Michael Harrison, Alan Simonson, and Melissa Cook. Stephen was preceded in death by grandparents, Forest and Leota Holliday, and William and Juliann Harrison; and one brother, Christopher William Harrison. Charitable donations may be made to the Stephen Harrison Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo Branch or to Trona Valley Credit Union in the name of Jordan Harrison.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service in celebration of Stephen’s life will be held on Friday, Aug. 12, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the Crippin Funeral Home Chapel. A second service will be Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints, 11000 W. 4th North, Green River, Wyo. Inurnment will follow the service at the Riverview Cemetery in Green River.
