Steve B. Wilkinson McKinnon - Steve B. Wilkinson, 80, of McKinnon died Monday, August 27, 2012 from a farming accident on his property in McKinnon. He was born April 14, 1932 in Koosharem, Utah, the son of Brose L. Wilkinson and Vee Nielsen Wilkinson. He graduated from Richfield High School, Richfield, Utah with the class of 1950. He also attended Snow College in Richfield and then graduated from Brigham Young University, Provo with a bachelors in botany. He also attended Weber State College and received his Elementary Education degree. He was a US Army veteran having served in Korea during the Korean War. He married Marie Lorraine Triplett March 18, 1960 in the Manti Utah LDS Temple. He was a life long rancher, range manager for the BLM for 20 years, school teacher in elementary education, and was currently teaching at the Daggett County Jail. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served as Bishop, in the Stake Presidency, and in numerous callings. He also served as a Boy Scout leader. His interests were his family, church, studying and teaching the gospel, history, Indian lore, animal husbandry and botany. Survivors include his wife Marie L. Wilkinson of McKinnon; sons and daughters Sara Lamb and husband Kenny of Manila, Utah, Rhodes Wilkinson and wife Alison of Hyrum, Utah, Chris Wilkinson and wife Vida of Hawaii, Robin Savage and husband Blake of Hyrum, Weston Wilkinson and wife Wendee of Hurricane, Utah, Dana and Joseph Wilkinson both of McKinnon; brothers and sisters, Vee Daun Romero of Monroe, Utah, Don Wilkinson and wife Peggy of San Antonio, Texas, Dee Gonter of Provo, Utah, Joe Wilkinson and wife Laura of Monroe, Paul Wilkinson and wife Kay of Mountain View, Wyoming, Susan Wilkinson of Provo, Richard Wilkinson and wife Jamie of St. George, Utah, Robin Ables and husband Bill of Lehi, Utah; 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Robert, Leland and Milton Wilkinson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2012 at the McKinnon LDS Chapel, McKinnon, Wyoming. A viewing will be held 11:00 a.m. until services time at the church on Friday. Interment with military honors will take place at the McKinnon Cemetery, McKinnon, Wyoming.
