Susan Carol Newby

Susan Carol Newby Rock Springs - Susan Carol Newby, 76, of Rock Springs was called home on March 17, 2017 at the Huntsman Cancer Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born September 11, 1940 in Marion County, Indiana, the daughter of Jack and Carrie Myers Johnson. She married her high school sweetheart Lowell E. Newby May 10, 1958 in Danville, Indiana. They had been married 53 years at the time of his death in 2011. She was a stay at home mom and bookkeeper for Lowell Newby and Sons Contractors and also kept books for a few local companies. Her interests included spending time with her family, interior decorating, sewing, cooking, reading, outdoors, and rescuing stray cats. Lowell and Susan spent a lot of time riding motorcycles and four wheeling in the jeep. Survivors include one son Lowell T. Newby; two daughters Brenda Dodd and husband Jeff, and Kristina Newby; one sister Janet Gibbs of Danville, Indiana; three grandchildren Mandy Greenhalgh and husband Blake, Jamie Dodd, and Andrew Newby; five great-grandchildren Amaya, Orion, Odin, and Osiris Greenhalgh, Alexis Rogers and one on the way. She was preceded in death her husband Lowell E. Newby, daughter Diane Lynn Newby and her parents. Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs. A memorial service will be held at a later date In lieu of flowers, family would be delighted if you would donate to Cowboy’s Against Cancer, Ride for Life, or Red Desert Humane Society.
