Sydney Shauers Rock Springs - Sydney Shauers, 60, of Rock Springs, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born January 27, 1952 in Douglas, Wyoming, the daughter of Don Nagel and Myrna Miller Nagel. She attended schools in Laramie and Green River and graduated from Green River High School with the class of 1970. She also attended Western Wyoming Community College and University of Utah. She married Craig Andrew Shauers January 28, 1983 in Green River. She had been self employed as a computer programmer retiring in 2005. She was a member of the Eastern Star - Mountain Lily Chapter #10 where she was Past Matron and Past Secretary. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Rock Springs. Her interests were cooking, camping and gardening. Survivors include her husband Andrew Shauers of Rock Springs; daughter Mary Heather Shauers of Rock Springs; Goddaughter Paula Gaviotis of Rock Springs; brother-in-laws Mike Shauers and wife Marlene of Rock Springs, and Dean Shauers and wife Ilo of Parker, Colorado; one aunt, one uncle, three cousins, three nieces, and four nephews; She was preceded in death by her parents Don & Myrna Nagel, brother Guy Miller Nagel, and sister-in-law Linda Stevens. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 21, 2013 at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 405 N. Street, Rock Springs. Father John Cusulos officiating. The Trisagion for the Dead will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs. Interment will take place in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery, Rock Springs. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 405 N. St., Rock Springs, WY 82901 or Hospice of Sweetwater County, 809 Thompson St., Rock Springs, WY 82901.
