Terry Duane Griffiths Green River - Our loving husband, father, and grandfather, Terry Duane Griffiths, 66, of Green River died Thursday, January 17, 2013 at his home with his loving wife by his side. He was born January 31, 1946 in Ogden, Utah, the son of Lafe “William” Griffiths and Nettie H. Griffiths. He attended schools in Ogden and graduated from Weber High School with the class of 1962. He married Marylou Griffiths on March 21, 1970 in Elko, Nevada and started a family together. He was employed at many jobs before starting his career working for Weber County Schools in Ogden for 33 years, retiring August 16, 2004. Following retirement, he and his wife moved to Wyoming so he could have wide open spaces and pursue his dreams of being a “cowboy”. He was a true cowboy and loved spending time with his horses. A day never passed that he wasn’t riding, training or just watching them. He also loved the outdoors, walking, hiking and watching nature. He also loved shooting pool, and being with family and loved watching his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Marylou Griffiths of Green River; sons Robert Smith and wife Shelly of Grand Junction, Colorado, Ken Griffiths and wife Kim of Riverdale, Utah, and Ty Griffiths and wife Peppar of Green River; daughter Maradee Buland and husband Brian of Ogden; sisters Bonnafaye Auffhammer of Clinton, Utah, and Shanna Craw and husband Dave of LaSalle, Colorado; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marlene Oram, and 2 granddaughters. Cremation will take place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs. Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs. Friends and family may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2013 and one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at the Riverview Cemetery, Green River, Wyoming. In lieu of flowers, family request that donations be made to Hospice of Sweetwater County, 809 Thompson, Suite D, Rock Springs, WY 82901. Condolences can be left for family by going to www.foxfh.com.
