Thelma Mae Edwards
Green River - Thelma Mae Overy Edwards, 73, of Green River, died Thursday July 30, 2009 at the Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah.
She was born May 5, 1936 in Rock Springs, the daughter of William Clifford and Thelma Mae Dexter Overy. She lived and attended school in Superior and graduated from Superior High School with the class of 1955. She also attended the LDS Business School in Salt Lake, graduating in 1956.
She was employed for Mountain Fuel Supply Company (Questar) in Rock Springs for three years.
She married Jack Edwards on October 3, 1959 in Rock Springs. The ceremony was performed by her father who was a Bishop at the time. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on October 2, 1962.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many positions. She and her husband served for three years in the Vernal LDS Temple and 18 month in the Bishop’s storehouse.
Her interests were her husband and her family, camping, family reunions, crocheting, hand work, creating greeting cards with rubber stamps, scrap booking with her children’s photos, traveling, flowers and especially red roses.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Edwards of Green River; children, Stephen William Edwards and very special daughter-in-law Veronica Edwards, Keith Richard Edwards and Penny RaNae Edwards; granddaughters, Nicholle Edwards Gerharter, Michelle Edwards and Emi Hensley.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son Thomas Jack Edwards.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at the Green River LDS Stake Center, 120 Shoshone Ave., Green River. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 3, 2009 and one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Green River.
