Virgil McWhorter Farson, WY - Virgil McWhorter, 79, of Farson died Sunday, April 1, 2012 at his home in Farson. He was born November 18, 1932 in Treasureton, Idaho, the son of Faye and Mabel Kirby McWhorter. He married his wife for 62 years, Patricia Fenton June 12, 1950 in Elko, Nevada. He had been employed for Loffland Brothers for many years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His interests were his family, hunting, fishing, camping, playing guitar and organ and singing. Survivors include his wife Patricia McWhorter of Farson; sons Richard McWhorter and wife Phyllis of Sinclair, Wyoming, Steven McWhorter and wife Berna of Rock Springs, and John McWhorter of Sinclair; daughters Cathy Bird and husband Ken and Janice Mines and husband Rod all of Farson; sister Illa Reed of Texas; grandchildren Jeremy McWhorter and wife Crystal, Justin McWhorter and wife Cassandra, Jerred McWhorter and wife Samantha, Shane Bird and wife Tracy, Brett Bird and wife Mary, Jennifer Bird, Kristina Hughes and husband Dennie, David Hall, Phillip Mines, Brad Hall, Laura Norton and husband Ray, Bryan McWhorter, Corrine Wigness, Lisa Bourgeois, Abby McWhorter, Bryn McWhorter, Levi McWhorter, and Nicole Simmons and husband Destry; great-grandchildren Haley, Riley, Alley, Braydon, Preslie, Derek, Kortney, Genesis, Kaylen, Elisabeth, Christian, Collen, Kaylee, Darelyn, Samantha, Erica, Corey, McKenzie, Kanden, Kreston, Shaylyn, Bryson, Carson, Ella, Kiernynn, Gavin, and Lucas. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Brent McWhorter, 2 brothers, 3 sisters and a granddaughter Kayla McWhorter. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the Farson LDS Chapel, Farson, Wyoming. Friends may call 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment will take place in the Eden Valley Cemetery, Farson, Wyoming.
