Wilbert E. "Dutch" Wright
Rock Springs, WY - Wilbert E. "Dutch" Wright, 81, died August 30, 2014, peacefully at home with his beloved wife at his side, after a 14 year battle with cancer. He was born August 3, 1933 in Titusville, PA , the son of Earl and Alice Foote Wright.
He was a first class welder and came to Rock Springs in 1972
to work on the Jim Bridger Power Plant. He started his own welding business in 1981 and retired in 2000. He loved anything to do with the outdoors. He and wife Barbara spent many years on horseback exploring the Bridger Wilderness, but he was always willing to share his experiences and expertise with his friends. After retiring he got into gold prospecting and metal detecting and looked forward to spending time in the mountains and Arizona with his wife and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Barbara, who lives in Rock
Springs and four children, three of whom live in Titusville, PA;
Fawn McLaughlin and Dale, Mark Wright and Karen, and Holly
Allen and Dewayne, and Steve Wright who lives in Rock Springs, WY.
He is also survived by four step daughters, all of whom live in
Titusville, PA; Norma Hoke, Janet Birchard and Bernie, Patty Hawthorne
and Randy, and Cathy Shambaugh; 22 grandchildren and their offspring. He is also survived by many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Harlan, and a sister who died in infancy, and also numerous aunts, uncles, and relatives.
Dutch was one of a kind. He was loved and remembered by everyone he met. He has left a big hole in all our lives.
A viewing and farewell will be held from 6 to 7:30 pm Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs.
Additional services and interment will be in Titusville, PA near his family.
