Lander - Willa Belle "Mac" McDonald, 74, of Lander died November 5, 2007 at the Morning Star Manor in Ft. Washakie after a lengthy illness.
She was born November 15, 1932 in Hull Community, Scottsbluff Co. Nebraska, the daughter of Virgil N. and Melva A. Preston Patten. She attended schools in a Wheatland country school and graduated from Mitchell High School in Nebraska with the class of 1950.
In 1951 she married Gary T. McDonald in Harrisburg, Nebraska. They were later divorced in 1978. He preceded her in death on August 8, 2007.
She had been employed as a nurse for 35 years, retiring in 1999.
She was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Lander. Her interests were horses, dogs, spending time rock hunting in the desert, fishing, other outdoor activities, and spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry McDonald and wife Gay and Mike McDonald and wife Debra all of Lander; 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Kenneth McDonald, and 2 brothers who died at birth.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2007 at the Covenant Presbyterian Church, 875 Fremont, Lander. Family request casual dress.
