William "Bud" E. Bennett Rock Springs - William E.“Bud” Bennett, 87, of Rock Springs, died Sunday, May 1, 2011 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County after a lengthy illness. He was born June 2, 1923 in Rock Springs, the son of William Edgar Bennett Sr. and Ann Anstee Bennett. He attended schools in Rock Springs until he began working for the Civilian Conservation Corporation at the age of 15. He married Dorothy Catherine Chetterbock on July 4, 1946 in Rock Springs. He worked in construction for many years and was employed by Questar for 14 years. He was a veteran having served in the US Navy during World War II. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows in Rock Springs. He was a past president of the local Musicians Union and the bass player for “Raunchy Coyotes”. His interests were music, horses, fishing, and hunting. Survivors include his wife Dorothy Bennett of Rock Springs; son Timothy Bennet of Rock Springs; daughters Kathleen Faccio and husband John of Rock Springs, Connie Johnson and husband Gordon of Nampa, Idaho, and Amy Louise Clark and husband Byron of Olympia, Washington; brother Dick Bennett and companion Joann Olah of Rock Springs; sisters Jean Merlone and husband Charles of Rock Springs, and Lily Nelson of Salmon, Idaho; grandchildren Tammy Faccio, Tanya Chrisman, John W. Faccio and wife Amber, April Lynn Faccio, Doriann, Jeremy, Rachael, and David Johnson, and Byron Clark; great- grandchildren Cody Simmons, Suede Simmons, Kaylynn Simmons, Michael Chrisman, Dallas Chrisman, great-great grandson Sterling Faccio; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Dovie Bennett, brother Arthur B. Leland, sister Lydia Poffinberger, brother Ernie Bennett, sister-in-law Lorretta Bennett, brother-in-law Jack Nelson. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2011 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs. Pastor Richard Carlson will officiate. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday May 5, 2011 and Friday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will take place in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, North Rock Springs.
