William Joseph Robinson
Green River - William Joseph Robinson, 76, of Green River died Thursday, March 29, 2012 at his home in Green River. He was born February 6, 1936 in Montpelier, Idaho, the son of Herschel and Thelma Moore Robinson.
He attended schools in Montpelier. He married Gail Alley October 14, 1957 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
He had been employed for Allied Chemical until his retirement in 1998 after 30 years.
He was a veteran having served in the US Army in Germany with the 54th Engineer Battalion.
Bill was a member of the Union Congregational Church in Green River. He was also a member of the Oregon California Trails Association, the Historical Society, and Golden Hour Senior Center. He served on the board for the Mansface Terrace Housing.
His interests were digging up old bottles,being involved with the OCTA and Cherokee Trail, geocaching, bowling, leather working, arrowhead hunting and socializing at Smith’s.
Survivors included his wife Gail Robinson of Green River; son Joseph William Robinson and wife Denise of Lyman; daughter Judi Lynn Robinson Laughter and husband Randy of Green River; sister Barbara Robinson Frans and husband Carl of Edmond, Oklahoma; grandchildren Theron William Robinson of Charlotte, North Carolina, Desiree Ralph Woodworth of Raeford, North Carolina, Monique Elizabeth Robinson of Lyman, Derek Louis Robinson of Lyman; great-grandchildren Alystical Lynn Woodworth and Emilyn Rose Woodworth both of Raeford; several cousins and 2 nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one niece Kathleen Joy Frans, and one infant baby brother.
Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday April 9, 2012 at the Union Congregational Church, 350 Mansface St., Green River.
